Council #9444 Hosted Coffee & Donuts in the Corpus Christi Parish Center after Services on Sunday
At Our Gates

Do you know someone that needs help around the house?

The Knights of Columbus "At Our Gate" Program is for anyone who is in financial or physical need and requires assistance to accomplish some necessary projects around their home. Examples of the type of work include painting, cleaning, fixing door locks, replacing leaking hoses on a washer, changing light bulbs on high ceiling and basic home handyman type chores.

There is no cost for the service; however, there are some requirements for participation in this program:

     1. You must be the homeowner and the property must be insured
     2. The work must not require a building permit
     3. The project must be within our abilities with a typical project being
completed by  three men in three hours.

The name of the program comes from Luke's gospel where Lazarus lies at the gate of a rich man. The rich man ignores him, offering no assistance. Eventually both die. Lazarus is comforted by Abraham while the rich man is tormented in hell for eternity. A lesson for us all to look after those who are in need.

Who are the people are . . . at our gate? They could be widows, elderly couples, single mothers, the disabled, in short anyone who is financial or physical need and requires assistance around the home.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance please complete an application that can be found at the back of the church.

If you would like to participate in this program and be one of the volunteers, please contact Tom and he can tell you more about the program.
